linkI was hugely disappointed the first time I visited D Six a year ago. Here was a new place in a well-to-do suburb, heavily populated by the kind of upwardly-mobile drinkers who tend to be interested in decent beer. Sadly the selection just wasn't up to it.
I called back recently to see if things had improved, and they had. This is still very much a wine shop, with just a token beer effort in the corner. However, it devotes less space than most to the bread-and-butter macroswill.
Like most of Dublin's good beer outlets, it's not somewhere to make a special trip to: you'll find these English and Belgian ales and German weissbiers in lots of other places too, but if this is the area you're in, this is the place to go.
Staff are friendly but seem endlessly bemused that anyone would want to buy a beer when there's all that lovely wine around.
