Such is the unfortunate state of beer in Ireland that a pub which concentrates on selling craft products must depend on the tourist trade to survive. This branch of the Porterhouse is a wonderful exception, however. It's a little bit out of the city centre but is a much more enjoyable place to drink than either the Temple Bar or Nassau Street branches. The building itself was originally a garage, built in a gorgeous art deco style. The conversion to multi-level pub has been sympathetic but contemporary.

The range of beers is the usual Porterhouse brands on draught, plus a large selection of imported bottles. The same criticisms of unknowledgeable service and inappropriate glassware apply as well. Yet, on a sunny afternoon (yes, they do occasionally happen in Ireland), the beer garden out back is the best place to enjoy a pint of Wrasslers or Porterhouse Red.
