This is my shop...So I think its the best. My wife, Laura, and I (Kyle) work hard to bring you guys the right information and supplies to make all your brewing and winemaking projects successful.

Feel free to stop in sometime and say "Hi." Thanks for all your support. We wouldn't be doing this without you guys.

Out here at the shop we like to brew American and German Syle beers and listen to American Rock and Jam music. Pale, Amber, Alt, Pilz.
We're fans of the hops bombs and lagers. We're also fans of the Phish and Widespread Panic music.

This location's owner is chocked full of information about homebrewing and winemaking and is not shy to share it with you. Your best bet is to drop in and start asking questions. When I visited the owner let me know that he was looking for a buyer of his location too. However much this location may stock more winemaking equipment and ingredients more than homebrewing, there was still a lot of homebrewing ingredients and equipment with the potential of making fine beers! The prices seemed a little high but I would make it a point to stop in and ask all the homebrewing questions that you can think of. I also confirmed with the miller at Lunar Brewing Co (on St. Charles Road in Villa Park) that this is where they get their liquid beer yeast!

Homebrewers in Eastern DuPage County, here's your store. As the name suggests, there's more here for wine than beer. But, no worries if you're patient -- what they don't have, they'll get. Full disclosure -- I'm an extract brewer due to my home limitations and attention-to-detail limitations. They have a good selection of unhopped extracts, a good selection of grains (both for all grain brewing and for touching up an extract brew), a pretty good hop selection. They do Wyeast liquid yeasts and some cool dry yeasts. They've special ordered for me.

Where they shine is in giving assistance -- bounce ideas off the folks there -- the give and take is helpful and fun. The printed instructions for beginners also help, but the personal help for intermediate brewers is nice, too. Other customers will chime in as well.

The drawback is pricing -- Elmhurst rents are higher than most other places in Illinois, and that reflects in the price of stuff. You can probably brew a batch for close to what you pay for basic craft beer, but... you probably won't. Still, although I enjoy visitng the Two Bros.' shop and have a soft spot in my heart for the shop in Galesburg, IL, Chicagoland Winemakers is my store.
