I was there on a Saturday afternoon, with a moderately sized crowd at the bar. The girl at the front door greeted us, and let us pass as we wanted to sit at the bar. When we sat at the bar, the co-owner (Ann Marie) introduced herself and her husband (Mike), asked me my name, and shook my hand before giving me the menu and the beer list. This was probably the most welcome I've felt at any bar/restaurant establishment I can remember visiting.

My and my buddy split a sampler of all 10 beers. Some hit, some missed, but I don't think there were any that I truly disliked. The stout stuck out because it was lighter than a typical stout, but I enjoyed it because I don'' like most stouts.

I also ordered the steak sandwich special, which was among the best $12 meals I've ever had. Instead of chopped cheap meat, this sandwich included real steak on bread, cooked an seasoned really well. I'm not sure how their other food compares, but I can't imagine it's all as good as this.

Patchogue's brewpub is the Brickhouse Brewery located on Main Street just west of North Ocean Avenue directly across the street from Bobbique. The red brick ediface faces the main street and you can see the shining stainless steel brewing equipment through the plate glass windows.

The Brickhouse usually has between six and eight different beers on tap. The regular line-up features the Street Light, Boys Red, Hurricane Kitty, Paul Brown, and Nitro Stout, all Brickhouse-brewed beers. Typically there are two Blue Point taps: Toasted Lager and something else, lately I've seen Blueberry or Hoptical Illusion.

The Brickhouse offers some rotating seasonals. During the holidays you'll find Blitzen which is a spiced, higher-gravity version of the Red. Occasionally they brew a lighter version of the Red called (you guessed it!) Red Light. But don't let the "Light" in this beer's name fool you. It's still a very nice beer. I've been especially impressed by two of the other seasonals, a Pilsener and a Belgian Blonde. Keep an eye out for those.

There's plenty of parking behind the brewpub in the municiple lot. Parking is free.
