This is my local, so I may be somewhat biased, but will try not to exaggerate my score.

Four Moon is a classic corner tavern that is a true community meeting place, people from all walks of life getting together to discuss issues and have a beer together. For a laid-back, relaxed atmosphere, it can't be beat. It's fairly small and charming with plenty of knick-knacks above the bar (Duff and Billy beer cans), and vintage breweriana on the walls. They have a nice Schlitz lamp, a Ballantine sign, and a few other retro lighted beer signs in the place. Pool table, digital jukebox, with record sleeves decorating the wall above. The wood bar seats 15-20, with high tables along the wall. In the back there's a lounge room with a large table and a couple couches.

Selection here has been steadily improving, and I can now say they are a solid beer destination. They always rotate a Surly tap (currently Furious, Darkness on occasion), and on my last visit there was BBK, Maudite ($4.50 special), Cane & Ebel, Domain DuPage, Goose Harvest, Southern Tier Pumking, Ed Fitzgerald, 13 taps in all, mostly 1/6 barrel kegs. In bottles they have 2 each from Metropolitan, Half Acre, Three Floyds. Bottles are limited, but they have some standbys like Delirium, Franziskaner, Matilda, Sam Smith, Aventinus, and a few others.

Food here is pretty standard, hearty homestyle cooking. Rotating daily specials. Pot Roast, Jambalaya, burgers, pulled pork, burritos, spaghetti, meatloaf, fish fry, etc. I recommend the chili, crab cakes, and guacamole. Service is always great, table service is offered, and there's a nice patio outside in warmer months. Brunch here is great on Saturday & Sunday.
