Stopped in here the other day on a mini pub call... Certainly if your looking for Soccer or Rugby on TV this is the place to be.

I did not eat here. The beers on draft where good mostly Euro Imports and a few Micros from US. Look like a front bar and a long back bar as well. A little dark in there too. The Bartender was nice and knowledgeable on the beer list. Prices a little above other bars in the areas but not by far.

If your into other sports that you won't find on TV this place is for you.

Alright, I have to admit that I reviewed this place a year ago, and had it confused with Silvie's down the street. Went here today, and had an ok experience. Greene King IPA on Draught, multiple soccer games and US football on the tv's. Brick red and gold trim façade outside, with a handsome wooden sign hanging above the sidewalk. Beer menu lists 166 bottled beers, which was pretty impressive. Inside there was alot of dark wood, from the walls to the bar and tables. A medium sized crowd was watching the soccer matches at midday on a sunday. Classsic rock was blaring on the stereo.

Table I sat at was a little sticky, so I opted for food at my next destination, Brisku's Bistro. Beer wise, there were a number of beers listed for Bells and Goose Island (7-8), Unibroue (5), 3 Floyds (4), and plenty of others. There were a few double digit prices for 12 oz. imports, which seemed a little excessive. I hope Girardin for $22 was a misprint. On the flipside, Old Style was $3.50, and there were a few options under $5. Plenty of Belgians with some odd omissions, such as St. Bernardus Pater and Tripel, but no 12...Oud Beersel Framboise and "Lindemans Framboise Cuvee Rene" supposedly, but again, that could be a misprint. Craft and easy drinking imports on draft. Nothing too wild. Go here if you're looking for a soccer match, otherwise there are better options for beer nearby on Irving.

Oof. When did Beermapping become the hospice for soccer-bashing reporters?
The selection is dull? I seem to find a lot of smaller English breweries' selections on tap. I believe it should have more U.S.A. craft beers, but the audience for which it is angling fervently follows the English Premier League [EPL]. However, you will find the ubiquitous Goose Island 312 here (If you're stumped, go for Honkers' Ale. It is a better ESB than most of the English ones on offer here.).
This place is far from perfect. One Tuesday night, I visited here for its beer special, and asked it to tune in a *live* South American Copa Libertadores match on Fox Sports en EspaΓ±ol. My polite request was dismissed. It seemed the bar staff wanted to view a _fifth_ repeat of an EPL match from Saturday afternoon.
Prices here are also higher than many other bars in the Irving Park, Damen, and Lincoln area. The Brown Line β€œL”'s Irving Park station is now closed for renovation, and some of these venues may take a hit. (The jazz club Katerina's *is now closed on Sunday*.) I will sporadically visit here. But for soccer bars, Ginger's Ale House on N. Ashland is better (and truthfully, if I count Karl Laschet's Inn as a soccer bar in the neighborhood - that is a better soccer bar than the Globe); and there are quite many other interesting beer bars around this intersection which provide better value for the money.
