The Olney Ale House is a stand alone restaurant with free parking and outdoor patio. The interior brick and wood construction has the feel of Irish tavern, and the hardwood tiled bar has 10 wooden stools. There are also plenty of dining tables, and the restaurant serves well-crafted pub fare. There are about 20 beers on tap, particularly featuring about 6 from the excellent nearby Flying Dog Brewery. Seems like a nice place to stop for a pint or a meal.

This place rocks for beer, they have 19 different taps and over 100 bottles of great beer and ones you have seen around the way. From local greats like the Heavy Seas line and Hook and Ladder Backdraft Brown Ale; to lots of Belgiums, to west coast craft beers like Arrogant Bastard Ale from Stone Brewers in So Cal.
The atmosphere is pleasant and homely while providing a good pub style scene. The bartenders are great, they are knowledgeable and smart about the beers they serve and friendly with all customers.
I highly recommend the trip to Olney MD if you are passing through; even if you are not passing through, they are only 2 turns away from Philadelphia and Richmond.
