This is one of my favorite bars. They always have a great tap selection and they always have some unusual selections. It's a pretty big place and it never gets really full unless they have a private party in the back dining room. The bartenders are some characters though, in a good way. We always have a good time with them. They have bands on occasion which is cool. Check the website before you travel though as the place is sometimes closed for private functions. The food is great too. Some of the best wings this side of Buffalo and a really good crab and lobster fondue. Food is a bit pricey.

Canal St is one of the better beer bars in the Reading area. They turn their taps over often, and Tuesday night has many of the excellent craft beers for $2.50. Many difficult-to-find beers have been found here, such as Founder's Kentucky Breakfast Stout. They have a decent selection of bottles to complement the draft list, but it can get a little pricey.

It's a big, nice restaurant in an old building that has a great feel, and there's sometimes live music, but it's also rarely full anywhere but the bar, and that can make it look a little strange. The bar is nice and large, and the area has darts and a pool table in a way that do not make the place look dive-y.

Food is pretty good, but not cheap, and even pub fare can cost you $8 on a non-special night (Tuesdays some food is half price, and Fridays there is free appetizers during happy hour). They also host one of the cooler beer events in the area every year, called Brewphoria.
