The Green Leaf is in a good location between the university and the colonial part of town.

It occupies a narrow older building (imaging that, an older building in Williamsburg….). The dining area is in front with the bar in back to your right. It has kind of a rustic decorating style that fits in well with its environs. They make good use of wood, iron, old glass light fixtures, etc. I Love the tap handles on display above the bar.

The actual bar seats about 15 with more small tables behind you as your seated at the bar. They offer 32 taps and 2/3rds are good. Large bottle selection and reasonable prices add to the attraction. Note the bottle menu has a macro selection with the tag line "shame on you" attached.
Unasked for free samples, got to like that!! The beers/tap lines were in very good condition. Good prices with no tap beer over $4.50 per pint and lots under $4.00!


Food was tasty and there are good sandwich and entre selections. Noticed a few choices for our vegetarian friends.

The service was friendly but not hovering. Lots of political discussions going on at the bar, which seems appropriate given the coming election and the proximity to the University.

Well worth a stop if you find your self visiting this fascinating town.
