Stopped into the Public House on a Saturday at lunchtime; they were pretty crowded for the summer afternoon in a college town. I tried the sampler of five beers; Cream Ale, Mild, Hefewiezen, IPA, and their Revelations Stout. They had just run out of their ESB the night before. All the beers were great but the Stout was outstanding; it won third place at the 2012 World Beer Cup. They have a 3.5 barrel system that fits nicely in their small brewpub but the system can’t keep up with the demand for their beer. They’re working on an upgrade to a 7 barrel system. When they opened they focused on making good beer, with that accomplished they’ve started a limited food service with various meat and cheese plates, sandwiches, and a few desserts. The brewpub itself is great with a big central bar area and plenty of seating at several tables on two levels. The place is no smoking and is family oriented; there are no TVs to keep it that way; no sports bar atmosphere. They do have a small stage for musicians. They have growlers to go and can also do kegs with advance notice.
