This is my absolute favorite Rock Bottom location. The food is simply outstanding and has a unique WI flavor to it. I believe back in 2006 you could get friend cheese curds in a pasta dish. I was staying downtown for work and would go there often for dinner because the food was high quality and had a number of different options.

The location sends out emails on different events and seems to have a good handle on creating a community feel for those who join the mug club. There are always invites to new tastings or events.

The location is on a river downtown which a great patio area which is nice if you want to spend the evening outside.

All Rock Bottoms I go to get compared to this one and so far I haven't found a location that beats the downtown Milwaukee location.

Friendly place. Never as many brewer's choices as downtown Chicago, but those that are there are good. Their current specialty brew is a German pilsner -- weird for February, I thought, but boy did it sing. Wow. Good porter (another rotating brew), good scotch ale. Service is always very attentive, and they'll volunteer to talk beer with you. The restaurant seems to have three parts -- straight restaurant, sports-bar restaurant, and the bar itself. Family friendly (until bedtime, I'm guessing).

Edit -- this year's winter specials (Feb 09) are quite nice. The prices are inexpensive. The single malt scotch is inexpensive, and they don't charge extra for serving it neat!
