Great place to find an authentic German brew. If you like barleywine, ESB, Belgians, or oak aged imperial stouts, you won't find them here. What you do get is great lager, a fun staff, excellent German food, and fun times. They do have a college night and a daily specials but I have always found the crowd to be respectful and friendly. Unlike the previous poster I don't think the bar is for drunk college kids or church music. Actually, I've never heard church music there and I speak fairly fluent German. If you enjoy German beer, German food, and a small beer hall atmosphere then the Old German Beer Hall is a great place to be.

If not, don't go, don't be an a$$.

Well. Hofbrau brews, one custom brew contracted from Huber/Minhas. Long, beat-up bar in front, long tables in back. Beer hall munchies -- radishes, pretzels, sausages, spaetzles, etc. Full bar. Mixed beer drinks -- beer with cola, etc.

Female servers in push-up dirndls. Amazing amounts of drunk twenty-somethings at 7 pm. Loud techno music being played. Tried it again at noon Sunday, German church music, serious drinkers, no push-up-dirndl-clad servers.

There's a neat stein club if you like the brew, and they have hard-to-find cordials. The sausage was good, the spaetzles were unbelievably salty. Beer comes in 3cl, 5cl, and 1 L glass mugs (or in 1 L steins if you shell out $75 to join -- it becomes your personal stein).

Well. I'm too old for the place on a weekend night, and it's really dingy during the day. And the beer prices aren't cheap -- 6.50 for a half liter. But it could be a lot of fun in a large group. Or if you are or have ambitions in becoming a drunk twenty-something.
