Pitcher’s is more of a sports bar than a brewpub. It is located in a corner of a shopping center parking lot, and offers an outdoor southern facing patio that allows smoking. Behind the bar were 7 television set (12 in whole property), one of which had the animal channel on it with sub titles. Most of the 8 or so people at the bar were watching that TV.

Beer was priced on a two tear system, House beer $2.75 and Premium beer at $3.50 a pint. Happy hour offered $.50 and $.25, respectively, from 3-6 and 9-1:15 am. Growler refills were $6.50, ½ pound hamburger was $6.95.

The bar does not have WiFi but sometimes one can pick up the WiFi from the Taco John’s stand across the street. There is public transportation stop just out side the door and is family friendly.

The eight beers I sampled ran the gambit from a very light Baja Beer (with a licorice hint) to the Stampede Nitro Stout. This array included two Belgians. I was told there was no IPA because they were having trouble getting hops.

The most popular beer among the house beers is the 808 Wheat. With one exception the house beers were good and to standard. That exception was the Cooper Amber (“like Flat Tire”) was pleasant but had an unrecognized off flavor.

The most popular of the premium beer is the Stampede Nitro Stout. This day they had run out of nitrogen so the beer did not have the typical nitro character.

The brewer is a manager at the Anheuser brewery up the road. He has a 10 (?)bbl system with 5 fermenters.

This is a nice bar. Beer is modestly priced, tasty, varied and to standard. People are friendly, atmosphere is pleasant, patio is nice, and generally a comfortable place.

I would go back.
