The Angry Minnow is located in an awesome old building. I love to see this type of building renewed and reused instead of torn down. High tin ceilings, a unique center bar and a cool color scheme add to the vibe. I read that this originally was the headquarters of a lumber company.

It seems to becoming more popular each time I go. Don’t get me wrong, there is plenty of space available, but when I started coming here I was afraid they would go out of business do to the sparse crowds. I’m glad to see they are really building a good customer base. Perhaps it is because they have gone smoke free, which is still a bit of a rarity in these parts.

The staff is very friendly. I had a few questions about the beer and the brewer came out for a chat. It seems he learned his craft at the Great Dane. Now I know why their beers are so good.

The food is fancy pub fare. The bar has a more limited menu, so if your really hungry grab a table.

I see they have entertainment most nights. They have a small stage set-up in the south side of the bar. I also saw a nice looking garden.

They had a bout 6 or so of their own beers on tap. The beers are served in 20 oz Imperial pints. Extra points there. Beers are only $2.00 during “Angry Hour” i.e. happy hour.

A very nice find in the North Woods and by far the best brewpub in Hayward!
