This is a great neighborhood bar, something Washington, DC needs more of, and a bit on the upscale side. It is relatively new bar, in a residential area with great historic town houses near by.

I would recommend this place to any kind of drinker, not just beer buffs. I would not call it a "beer bar" as such, it is a bar that does good food and good drink, including beer.

Just down the block on 14th street is a bar by the same owner's and worth checking out: Bar Pilar.

This place is located just south of trendy U street. To get there take a shortish walk from U street metro: Go west along U street to 14th, and turn left.

Alternatively, take a longish walk from Dupont circle metro, through a lovely urban neighbord of historic town houses.
