2017:
I'd heard about the burgers here for years, and had some time to kill in the area so we stopped in just to check it out before dinner at Ethiopian Diamond. The decor is alright, i'm a sucker for dark wood paneling and the various eclectic oddities on the walls. The fireplace is great too. The tables are so close to each other they're practically touching at the corners. Oddly the open kitchen is behind the bar and there's no bar seating, so you can't actually belly up to the bar. The booths along the wall looked cozy. Service was pretty good.

The tiny beer "steins" they use here are 10 ounces, with 2" of glass on the bottom, commonly referred to as a "cheater pint". At $6/10 oz. for a 5 Rabbit or Founders All Day, it's kind of a ripoff. The beer selection also seemed stuck in the early 90's, which is quaint I guess.

The patio seems to be the saving grace, i'd return for a burger on the patio in warmer months.

Dive beer bar with a half dozen draft local/regional craft beers (Bell's, Spiteful, Half Acre, Two Brothers). Beware the cheater pints ($6 or $7 "steins" on the menu), get a pitcher instead if there are two or more of you. Kitchen serving typical pub grub and "Chicago's best burger"....it was not Chicago's best burger. Expansive patio with mature trees and plenty of seating, all in all a great place to grab a pitcher to share with a couple of friends on the patio and then move along to something better, perhaps never to return.
