I stopped by this package store today while in Mobile on business. I was hoping to pick up something from Good People Brewing but unfortunately Good People has yet to make it to the Mobile market.

I was however pleasantly surprised to find 3 different brews from Tallgrass Brewing (out of Manhattan, KS). I picked up 4 packs of cans of all three varieties that they had and am shipping them back home.

The bottle/can selection was about as good as you can find in Alabama. I didn't see anything super rare and I missed the bomber section that the other reviewer mentioned... It's probably still there, I just wasn't looking for it. They did have bottles of Ola Duhb which is always nice to see.

They have expanded their tap growler selection to (I think) 8 beers (maybe only 6, didn't look that close, definitely more than 3 though).

All-in-all this was a good place to stop in if you're looking for a decent selection of relatively easy to find craft beers. Don't expect to find anything rare, and don't expect to find anything from Good People or any of the brewery's out of the Huntsville area.

This place is located on the corner of a strip mall at Cottage Hill & Hillcrest. I have been here several times. If you like cigars they do have a nice selction in a walk-in humidor.
The beer selection is pletty decent. They carry a wide varity of regional beers and will special order cases for you. They will NOT give case prices for special orders.
I was charged for 4 six paks per case. I no longer buy my beer here. I go to Bruno's supermarket on University instead.
So, in a nutshell, decent selection but not cheap.

Okay I really needed to update my review. My apologies to the owner and staff there for the delay.
I went back in here before a recent trip back to Chicagoland. This time I actually spoke to the owner and gave him some BeerMapping stickers. I explained what we do and how stores, beerbars, etc. get reviewed.
The whole micro, craft & high gravity scene is still fairly new to Alabama so I guess I should have cut them slack on their pricing.
The owner turned out to be a nice guy. He actually asked me what the average discount on a case of craft beer was nationally. He matched that instantly.
This place now has a bomber cooler and three taps featuring high gravity beers by the growler! Too damn cool! This place is definitely a place to check out when you are in the area! Tell them Evil Keith sent you! (I'm not sure if that would help or hurt you)...
