This is an upscale grocery store located just outside of FairFax, VA, close to the Fair Lakes area. The store is divided into three sections: standard groceries, organic groceries, then all the produce, deli, and meat selection aisles. It's a huge store, with a parking garage.

They have a wine store in the lower section next to the garage, but I'm not sure what they have for beer in there.

In the main store in the back with the coolers they have a modest beer selection. A lot of it is in coolers, some in refrigerated shelves, and recently (as of May 2008) they have a new shelf full of singles and six packs full of craft beer. While they carry a lot of macros, they have a respectable selection of craft beer. Some is refrigerated, and some isn't. Most of it is six packs, but singles can be found in 22oz and 750ml sizes. The prices are reasonable, and you may save more if you have a Wegmans club card.

As far as service goes, it's unlikely that anyone will ever help you with your beer selection since it's a grocery store. This stop makes a great place to pick up a six pack while grocery shopping, or if you need something in a pinch.

Edit (2/6/09): They have slowly expanded their beer selection to a lot of 750ml/22oz singles and six packs. There is also a row of coolers full of various beers. There are places with better selections but there is a very good selection for a grocery store. Everything from Belgians to lagers from local breweries.
