Moriarty's Pub is a three story brick building with eye-catching bright blue wooden trim. It's downtown Philly, so street parking is all metered. Enter and there is a long 20 chair wooden bar on the right. On the left and in the back and tables and booths for dining. The construction has wooden floors, copper clad ceilings, and plenty of nice woodwork trim. The atmosphere is cozy and cluttered with posters, pictures, books and a large tap handle collection overhead. It has an authentic pub feel, almost too authentic, as if the atmosphere were forced rather than being natural. There is a second floor, with its own bar, that is only open Saturday nights or for reserved parties. The food menu is expanded pub fare with some English / Irish inspired entrees. They have about 30 taps, and draft beer is served in oversized 20 oz pours, which is good for gulping down your favorite brew, but not conducive for tasting a variety of ales. Most taps are common bar standards and typical pub imports, but there are a few regional craft brews on tap. They also have several dozen bottled beer choices, but these are the typical bar standards. The servers hustled around and yet were a little inattentive. There are definitely better craft beer bars nearby (across the street), but Moriarty's is a memorable watering hole.

I was dissapointed with this place. The food was okay, but I didn't really go there for the beer.

They claim to have "50" taps, but there's now way. At most, it's 50 different tap lines running from 10 or so kegs (they do have 3 or 4 different bars, so I guess this is possible.)

We were on the 2nd floor since we went there for dinner too with a group of people. They had a very standard tap list there, and some of the stuff that wasn't BMC was out (Fransiskaner, etc.) Even worse, the servers "weren't allowed" to go to the different floors to get beer, they were only allowed to serve the beer that was on the floor they were on. I didn't check out the 3rd floor bar, but the 1st had a slightly better tap list, at least including some locals from Yards and stuff.

I wouldn't recommend this location, there are a lot of better bars in Philly to visit.
