Could be a really fun place to hang out with friends and drink some good beer. However, most nights it is overcrowded with barely legal kids drinking miller lite and getting into fights. They just did a remodel and don't see how that helped the situation at all. If you go early enough you can get a good seat at the bar and get served without too long of a wait. Pool tables in the middle of the two bar areas make it difficult to cross from one side to the other without getting nasty looks fro people trying to play.

The Ropewalk has two sides (the Ropewalk and McFaui's Irish Pub. Between them, they have about 20 beers on tap. On the Ropewalk side, they have Arrogant Bastard, Paulaner Hef, Guinness, Anchor Steam seasonal, Newcastle, McHenry's, Sam's Winter Ale, Bass, Yuengling, Amstel, Sierra Nevada, Blue Moon, Leinies Summer Wheat, Magic Hat #9, and the Dogfish 60 minute IPA. The McFaul's side has a great set of Irish Ales including Guinness, Beamish, Murhpy's, Smithwicks, etc.. The combined put has about 154 different bottled beers. You can earn a "Master of Beer Appreciation" at the Ropewalk by drinking ~100 of their selection. My pint of Arrogant Bastard cost me $4.50. My only knock was that they didn't have any cask conditioned beers.

The crowd is mixed, and the staff is great. I had long talks with a pretty bartender (Stacey), and the manager (Tom). Both were quite friendly. The bar has a couple of video games, some big screens, and 2 pool tables.

They appeared to have a nice selection of food (although I only observed the food being served). Fish & Chips, meatloaf, stew, pot pies, bangers, etc..
