Pratt Street is probably the best place to get beer in the middle of downtown (around Camden Yards / Convention Center / Harbor). They have a large and constantly updating selection of their own brews (Oliver), including frequent collaborations with other Baltimore and DC breweries. They usually have three beers on cask as well, usually 'special' variations on the drafts. They've recently expanded into the neighboring property, adding a second bar (which is good because the main bar gets crowded most weekend evenings), as well as opening another location in Columbia. I've never had a bad experience with the servers or the food. The front patio is particularly fun in the summer, and great for people watching if there's an interesting convention happening across the street (Otakon being the best).

Pratt Street Alehouse is a red brick building with ornate blue and gold trim. There is plenty of patio seating out front, shaded by blue umbrellas. Brick archways divide the restaurant into sections. The dining area on the left has booth and table seating. The bar area on the right has a 19-chair wooden bar with several televisions and small tables. The bar has 25 taps, 17 of which are dedicated to the great diversity of their in-house brews. Although the name of the restaurant is Pratt Street Alehouse, the official name of the in-house brewery is Oliver Breweries. There are about 8 Oliver standards that are brewed year round, and the bar offers about 6 seasonal creations at any given time, and 3 hand-pump beer engines. A couple of pre-selected 4-beer sampler flights are available, but the bartenders are reluctant to create sampler flights of their seasonal beers, which is disappointing. The bar stocks the remaining few taps, plus about a dozen bottles, with typical national bar standards. In all, there were too many brews to take all in one visit, so a repeat visit was required! 3 Lions is their flagship ale, a very flavorful and delicious English brown ale. A few of other frequent offerings are Dark Horse Mild Ale, Ironman Pale Ale, Pagan Porter, and Bishop's Breakfast Oatmeal Stout, which are all slightly better than average. The best of their beers are the seasonal and one-off creations. PSAH is located across the street from the convention center, just a couple blocks from Baltimore's Inner Harbor. This is a very nice place to stop for a variety of beers while touring the Harbor attractions. Street parking is a challenge, but there are several nearby parking garages.

I went to the locations in Baltimore - one near Camden Yards, the other in Fells Point- both great locations I might add. The Camden One has a tremendous old english pub feel, the bar is gorgeous. The location at Fells Point feels like a really cramped old english pub.

Both locations the service was outstanding- the bartenders were extremely knowledgeable and helpful in making selections.

They have a rotating group of cask ales- every one I tried was excellent. Regular beers that I tried and would get again- Pagan Porter, SWI and Blackfriar Stout.

Absolutely worth the trip to either location, but the Camden Yards location gets packed!

I’m glad to see how downtown Baltimore has continued to improve, evolve and become a real destination. I remember the harbor area from when I was a kid, what a difference!

If your ever in Baltimore during base ball season, try to take in an Orioles game. What a nice park!

After games, I usually head to the Wharf Rat. Even given the Orioles recent trials, the crowd is usually a lot of fun.

The Wharf Rat is an older large building. Just guessing, but I bet it was originally built for a shipping company’s offices. It has an outdoor area in front and then about three rooms inside. I like to sit at the old school bar.

The service is usually prompt even given the post game crowds. Note that you will get waited on by a seeming small army of bartenders and may get a different one each time you get another beer.

Speaking of beers, they had about 15 to 17 of their British inspired beers to choose from. They also offer some macro drafts (Bud, Stella, Guinness, Miller Lite, etc.). Decent bottle offerings round out the choices. Usually the beer are in are in great shape, but I have had a couple of clunkers here.
