Nice selection of beers that is always changing...especially during the busier month's of the year when Fall and Spring Semester is in at FSU. It is a small space with a very unique feel.

Many beer reps like to stop by during the week to showcase their upcoming beers to the Tallahassee area. This space definitely lends itself to being considered perfect for such an event. Being a small space, I still don't find it cumbersome to move around.

They also have a very healthy amount of glass giveaways promoting a particular brewery/beer.

One point of criticism I've noticed pertains to their knowledge of the beers they serve. I've noticed on numerous occasions that a couple of the servers have given the wrong information out to patrons as a beer relates to its style (according to BJCP Guidelines). Sometimes it is only a slight mistake...other times it can be quite a big mistake. I'm not saying a server should never be allowed to make a mistake...but I would prefer that the server just admit that he/she doesn't have the full amount of information available to give an educated answer instead of acting as though they do. I have no problem with that and in fact admit all the time that I don't know much about certain beers.

On another note...they have an excellent cheese plate. It is primarily comprised of cheeses from Sweetgrass Dairy in Thomasville, GA.

I recommend this place to anyone in the local area. Always a great way to blow off some steam after work.

The Fermentation Lounge is a very intimate lounge setting with a small bar and several plush chairs and couches. The place is probably 20 feet wide and 60 feet long, so its small! It also has a small outdoor seating area in front of the place, but people typically spill onto the street. You can term the atmosphere, eclectic. The place is hidden on a minor street among a condominium complex. They do have a good selection of belgians and craft brews on tap and bottle. Some wine also available. They do strive to be knowledgable in beers and proper serving and glassware. This is a place that's worth an evening's visit.
