Hubby & I were excited that McHenry was finally getting a microbrewery, and after much hype and anticipation, we have been let down. Although the staff and owners are friendly and the atmosphere is great, the quality of the beer is not up to par. Consistency is key when brewing, and Chain O'Lakes's beers are anything but--from small batch to small batch, you can never tell what you're going to get. The owners are trying new ideas and marketing to draw in more customers, but what they need to do is concentrate on brewing.
