#3 stop on my cross-county trek through the NW burbs today. Arrived about 20 minutes before they closed early at 4 for the thanksgiving holiday. This place has a gigantic parking lot.

Once inside and straight past the checkout area, there was a wall of imports, interspersed with glassware here and there. There was a free standing rack of xmas seasonals and gift packs, even a 5L minikeg of Rogue Yellow Snow. Small bottles of Cantillon Gueuze and Kriek (bottled '07) caught my eye, and I noticed De Dolle and Urthel bottles nearby. There was Nogne Ø, Krusovice, Weihenstephaner, countless names of obscure imports along the wall. Further down there were deep stacks of fresh Bells cases, Expedition, Hopsoulution, and Double Cream, Christmas, and the rest of the lineup. Several 3 Floyds bombers, new Lost Abbey was on an "employee picks" shelf. Found some JP Calabaza Blanca sixers on sale for 9.99, Leelanau even, also some Avery 15 that had sold out in the city. Limited Founders seasonals, several Dark Horse, Bare Tree from 2 Bros., a good selection of craft overall...if you can't find the US craft beer, you're not looking hard enough. The coolers seemed to be an afterthought though, mostly devoted to macros, 40s, and bombers. Macro shelves were back towards the coolers, Capital and Sprecher were stuck back there too for some reason.

The manager on the floor asked if I had found everything alright as I headed to the checkout. The staff were friendly and made some funny jokes. Had a good experience here, and I had no expectations going in. Lake county seems to get a slightly different distribution of imports, and that is evident in the wide selection at Antioch Fine Wine & Liquors.

This is the closest good liquor store near me, there is 1 other called lucky dog but it's half the place this is. they have a large wall of imports, some beers from far out countires like sri lanka and kenya. A nice chunk of it is german and there is a good square of all the top belgians. Ive never really gone into the rest of the store because there is so much to be had in the import aisle.

The service is friendly and there is one guy in there who is for sure a fellow BA, he will gladly help you finding the right brew for the night.

A few of the beers do go expired in store so watch out.

Went again today after many months and their selection is through the roof, stuff form Floosmoor and Mickey Finns, among others that they never had before.

What a pleasant surprise it was last week when I decided to check out the closest beer store to my new place of employment.

I honestly didn't expect much, as my prior experience with Armanetti's outlets located in the hinterlands has been somewhat dissapointing.

This time was different in a big way. I walked in the front door, and headed straight down the front of the store to what looked like an aisle stacker of "something" craft related. As I glanced up an aisle to my left, what did I see but a customer holding a 6-pack of Alpha King in one hand, and a 4-pack of Devil Dancer(!) in the other. He was engaged in conversation with an employee, so I patiently waited until they were done, and asked: "where did you get that"?

I was directed to the entire craft section, which was very extensive. In addition to Founders, Rogue, Lagunitas, 3F's, Great Lakes, Summit, Avery and Flying Dog are among the many selections. They also have a very large German import selection, and a few quality Belgians as well.

The beer manager (whose name eludes me) is very enthusiastic, and apparently fairly active on the RateBeer site.

All in all a gem of a find, less than a mile from work! If you find yourself in the area, give it a try.
