Pensacola Bay Brewery is the only distributing brewery in Pensacola. Parking is free along the street near a public park with Gulf waters within eyesight, a beautiful area to stroll around. The brewery is a one-story red brick building with narrow windows and dark green shutters. Overhead is their sign and sailing ship logo. On the side of the building is a garage door that opens to the brewhouse where you can see stainless steel and copper brewing vessels. Out front there are a few black patio tables along the brick sidewalk. Enter the taproom and their 9 chair stone topped bar is straight ahead. The aroma of grain and malt in the air leaves no doubt this is an active brewery. There are large windows to the right of the bar that look into the brewhouse's row of stainless steel fermenters. The taproom also has a few high top tables constructed from repurposed barrels, and the decor is nautical related. No food is served here but there are several places to eat nearby. The bartender was friendly and quick to serve beers. They have 11 draft house brews, plus 9 guest taps of cider and a few crafts. They offer a 8 beer sampler flight of the house brews, which are also available by pint or growler. The styles include Kolsch, wheat, amber, ESB, brown, and porter, and even their lighter beers are very flavorful. The Napoleon India Pale Ale (6.7% abv) is tremendously hoppy and delicious, and the whiskey barrel aged imperial stout is great. Pensacola Bay Brewery is well established with a great variety in their offering.
