Garrick's Head Pub is a clean, bright, modern, welcoming pub with a fantastic beer selection and knowledgable bartenders. It should be considered a required visit in Victoria, which shouldn't be difficult since it's in the middle of the tourist district. We didn't recognize it due to the inspired renovation since our last visit that transformed it from a decent but worn and "ye old England" type pub.

The entrance is on the corner of a pedestrian street (or through obscure doors in the back of a dingy lobby of the adjacent hotel that owns the pub). The ceilings are high, the walls a clean off-white color, the floors are dark wood and tile, and large tall windows run along two sides. A very long light wood topped bar with tall chairs runs along the inner wall, and mostly tall dark wood tables and chairs line the windows. Through an exposed brick wall is a semi-open kitchen and a dining room.

Once again, the beer selection is fantastic. All five local breweries are on tap, with 3 to 5 beers from each, as well as a good selection of craft beers from the rest of British Columbia, and Washington and Oregon. In total, we counted 45 taps (this includes a handful of the big breweries and two ciders).

The food looked good, but we didn't try anything.
