We spent part of Saturday evening at the Weston Brewing Company. This place is a first-rate Irish Pub with great ambiance and they brew their own beer. On tap they had an excellent Cream Ale, SunRye’s Ale, Emerald Lager, and a Flying Monkey Four-Finger Stout. Being a quality Irish Pub they also had Guinness and Harp available. Although all the food looked wonderful, by the time we arrived here we were not too hungry so we settled on a chocolate-pecan pie. This proved to be an excellent pairing with the stout. They have a patio and a separate area for the bands they bring in.

This takes the cake as the strangest brewpub I've ever encountered.
It took a good twenty minutes to find this place. I came in a weird way off of rural roads leading directly to Weston from I-29. When I reached the Weston city limit sign, there were just a few small businesses, including a couple of roadhouse type bars with Budweiser signs on them. "That can't be it."
I finally wandered down a paved, but narrow and unmarked road simply signed "Walt Street" leading off from the highway. It curved around into what looked like a neighborhood but I was suddenly inside the town and at Weston Irish.
The stairs down at the entrance of the bar are misleading because when you don't fully understand how "down" you really are going. Winding around a series of corridors, you finally descend some old wooden steps and are in the bar area.
Stuck with smoke, the loud sounds of music, dancing and laughing, the bar is at the end of the small space.
I had come for their ISB (Irish style bitter) but they were out. I had a few samples: the Cream Ale, the brown and the "SunRyes." Honestly, they all tasted kind of the same.
But, man, what a place. I stood there (no seats available at the bar) drinking, smoking and watching the band play and the people enjoy themselves and just couldn't help but feel a little weirded out by the whole experience.
They do tours on Saturdays. I had originally planned to do that, but didn't have time. I would recommend that though because Weston is a really cool little town and I'm sure that there's tons of history behind the bar.
