F'n love this place! I heard they had a great beer menu, and knew when I walked in with the Black Keys blasting over the speakers that I'd dig this place, but to my surprise their food is amazing as well. My BF and I split chick pea soup, the Shredded Beef Salad (yes, shredded ) and the fried plantains. It was amazingly good.

Don't let the garage location sway you, it adds to the hipster dive character. I'd say the crowd is diverse and eclectic but not dangerous, at least not on a Saturday afternoon. The service was great, as I've read mixed reviews on that, I guess it depends on who you get. The only downside is Cash only. I had to use the Bukowski ATM, which charges you 2 dollars on top of your bank fees. That is a little antiquated, but in Boston cash is king still, and the credit card hasn't caught on yet at some places. My advice: Just plan ahead and bring your greenbacks. I think this is a place that can be a regular hang out for me, and I am glad my first visit was a positive one.

Located in downtown Boston near the Fenway area, this makes it an ideal place to go before a game. It's not too crowded, and it's within a 20 minute walk to the park. Avoiding the subway around gametime is a good idea. It's right next to a bridge, crammed into a parking garage, near a hotel, and has a bright red face that's easy to spot.

The inside is very narrow as would be expected. There is a long bar on the left, maybe 20 stools, and tables on the right (booth along the wall, chairs along the aisle). They are all two-person tables that can be pushed together to make room for more people. There is also a seating area toward the back.

The place had a decent tap list, as well as a cask, which was actually just finished a bit before I arrived. There are maybe 20 taps, some of which are beers like PBR, which is good to help out the people who don't like double coffee chocolate mocha stouts. They have a nice bottle list as well. The beer prices seem to be reasonable, with the cheap beers being cheaper, and the craft beers being $6-7, which seems to be on par for most places around the country, or at least on the east coast where things tend to be more expensive around the cities.

The food was mostly bar food, with maybe some British influence. There are vegetarian options available. The food is good though with a decent variety.

The service was good from my waitress. The beers didn't come too fast but then again she was busy. When I didn't get my salad dressing and saw that she forgot to bring it, she made a reaction as if she spilled a beer on my lap, which I thought was adorable.

Overall a good place to go. If you don't care about fancy dining and just want a few beers while in the area, this place is a must go. Recommended.
