Beer Works Brewing company.

This brewery is just across the street from Fenway park. Its fairly upscale with big plank wood floors with silver and yellow accents around the place. The first beer i tried was the Stars and Stripes Pale ale. Straw color with a earthy hop flavor but fairly assertive for an East Coast beer. The next beer was the Fenway Pale Ale. This beer has orange and lemon notes with a fairly matly base and nice cascade and Amarillo hop flavor but not as assertive as the Stars and Stripes ale. The third beer was their Contender New East Coast Style Ipa. This a malty and fairly bitter beer and i really like it. This beer has a somewhat sweet maltiness upfront and a somewhat bitter finish. I would drink this beer alot. The last beer i had was their Old School IPA , this is a more traditional ipa but i like the Contender better. Food, Jenni had the classic pizza, the crust and sauce but the cheese mix was kind of greasy. I had the Salmon Sandie, which was good but not as good as the salty Dog. The fries were fresh cut and cooked just right. They didn’t have any glassware for sale but did have some cool coasters in several colors.

This place is nice, and situated conveniently located right across from Fenway Park. I'm sure it gets ridiculously busy on game days. But, while everything is clean and the staff is friendly, it just comes off as too much of a chain restaurant to be a cool hangout. The beer isn't bad - the seasonal selections are definitely interesting. But, with so many alternatives in downtown Boston (both breweries and pubs), I wouldn't make another trip to this place.

This seems like a great place to hang during Red Sox season. We were there in February. What could be better than drinking across the street from Fenway. They have a great selection of beers brewed right there on the premise. More than most brewpubs have. I tried the Fenway Pale Ale and my wife had the Schwarzbiere. She added a scoop of coffee ice cream to it to make a beer float. Both were exceptional. The service was really good and the barmaid and waitresses were as friendly as could be. They didn't even charge my 2 girls for the sodas.

I travel to Boston often for work and always manage to make it to Boston Beer Works for a few pints. I was recently at this location and I feel this one beats them all esp. on game day when the Red Sox are playing. The place gets so packed with Red Sox fans it's amazing. The atmosphere is incredible as there are TV's, 2 bar areas and a lot of seating. The summer beers they have on draft are good. The watermelon and blueberry ales are very popular. I really enjoy the Back Bay IPA, as it have just enough hops and the flavor is smooth. The food is good and reasonably priced. A large beer is only $6.00, the best deal is drink here before you goto the game since it cost about $7.50 or so for a beer inside Fenway Park. They have tons of bartenders and servers on game day so your never waiting for a beer. Located directly across the street the entrance C & D on Yawkey Way. Excellent place to have a few pints.

Right next to Fenway Park, the brewpub is intriguingly constructed with bar area in front and then 'ramp-up' effect to restaurant and second bar in back. Resides in old warehouse with beer bottles in windows, which in the late afternoon catches the sun and adds a very surreal atmosphere to the restaurant area. Young crowd mostly. Solid brewpub menu. Lobster Salad Salad was excellent -- made with fresh lobster and lots of wild greens and avocado in Raspberry Vinegarette.

Visited in March and was pining for quality IPA -- was very happy to have the Mad Hops, which was preceded by their pale ale, Fenway American.

Service was decent. A little noisy because of cavernous nature of space, but did not detract.

A nice option to grab food before or after seeing a game at Fenway (it is literally across the street). It gets quite crowded on game day, so you need to be there pretty early to talk with a bartender about their beers (but they are pretty knowledgable).

One of my favorite breweries because they take lots of risks with flavors. Might not be the most popular place for strict beer style followers, but I like the risks they take with flavors.

A couple of examples- watermelon ale is a summer beer which uses watermelon in the brewing process, tasted much better than expected.

Boston Tea Party- a beer that tastes very similar to iced tea.

Bunker Blueberry - A nice ale which has a ton of Maine blueberries in the glass.

The Fenway Pale Ale and Harvest Ale were also very solid selections.

Overall, they had probably 15-20 choices on tap.

These guys make their own beers and they're all rather tasty. Great vibe, good atmosphere especially before and after Sox games. The food is excellent especially their burgers. I am a big fan of their pale ale and the one they put bluberries in (sorry, I forget the actual beer names. They are all Red Sox and/or Boston related names) Service is ok, nothing special. Bartenders serve you the beer but can't really tell you much about it. Beers are moderately priced, nothing below $5. There are a bunch of tvs always on a sporting event, usually a sox game or Celtics game given the season. I would call Beerworks 'family friendly', although I think you must be over 21 to get in after a certain hour. But because it is across the street from Fenway, the staff is particularly alert for overly drunk folks, and they are usually denied at the door or escorted promptly if something comes up.
