The World of Beer franchise started in Florida in 2006, and by mid 2013 grew to over 40 locations throughout the US. The WOB business model is unique; they specialize in serving just beer and nothing else! Most locations have about 50 craft brews on tap, and several hundred variety in bottles. The service is casual, and you are free to choose your own table. Some WOB locations serve from a very simple appetizer menu, but you can also order or bring in food from nearby restaurants. In one sense this allows for great dining options, but in another sense it seems a little inconvenient. In any case, I am very fond of sampler flights at WOB to discover a variety of new beers.
The WOB Arlington location occupies the ground floor of a 12 story office building. Metered street parking is challenging to find, since this area is popular with numerous places to eat nearby. Enter and the bar is on the left, and a dining area with several tables is on the right. There are plenty of high top tables with comfortable stools. Their 15 chair angled wooden bar overlooks very impressive brick framed taps and refrigerated cases. There are a plethora of televisions encircling the dining room and bar area. The bartenders and a few roaming servers do their best to keep the beer flowing, but was a little slow when I visited. The bar features 45 frequently rotating taps of national and import crafts, and over 350 bottles showcasing all varieties of beer. WOB is a great place to discover new craft brews.
