I can't say enough good things about Dogfish Head. Even before moving to DE in 2008, I concluded that DFH was the best brewery in the US, so I was thrilled to have easy access to their brews. Their creativity and fearless recipes were unmatched when DFH exploded in popularity. There was a short season television show on Discovery called Brew Masters that featured DFH and its founder Sam Calagione as he travelled the world in search of unique ingredients. DFH has created many beers that I would rate as extraordinary, or perfect. The continuously-hopped 90-Minute IPA is excellent, and its big brother 120-Minute IPA boasts an incredible 18% abv! World Wide Stout in another at 18% - delicious! Specials such as Punkin Ale, Palo Santo, Burton Baton, Aprihop, Raison D'Etre and Chicory Stout showcase wonderful flavors. DFH has researched ancient beer recipes and recreated them impressively - Midas Touch, Chateau Jiahu, and Theobroma are intriguing! Lately they have offered a series a beer celebrating musicians - Miles Davis' Bitches Brew (my 3000th beer!) and Robert Johnson's Hellhound Ale with lemons. Anyone who enjoys hunting craft beers must seek out these DFH ales. The main brewery is now in Milton, and the old brewpub in Rehoboth Beach still crafts small batches of experimental recipes. Outside the brewery brewpub, DFH operates three AleHouses in MD and VA. The Falls Church VA location is a stand alone brick building with green awnings, at Seven Corners shopping complex. There are plenty of dining tables and a 22-chair island bar that features the comprehensive DFH offering of about 17 beers. The atmosphere is like a tavern, noisy and crowded, but with attentive and fast service, and decorated with televisions and Dogfish Head artwork. I highly recommend the AleHouse for a delicious meal and sampler flight of their beers.

The beer here is just as good as you expect from any of Sam Caligione's establishments. Sixty minute IPA never disappoints and a mix with the 90 to form 75 is my favorite. This is among the better locations of DFH Alehouses foodwise, and the setting is comfortable and friendly. Just off Route 7 near seven corners, this is a welcome respite from the shopping malls and traffic this area is known for. Bring a growler to take some fresh beer home.

Located in a shopping center near a very convoluted intersection. There is public transportation within walking distance, if you're in good shape and have good walking shoes on.

Inside is a brick and wood interior with things suck as uneven brick walls and hammers stuck in the cement. There are TVs in several areas, all 16:9 widescreen, and they actually have HD service. There is a bar area toward the right and the rest is restaurant seating. There are chalkboards around that show what's available. They have a full range of beers, from their Lawnmower to their World Wide Stout, at least draft or in a bottle.

If you're a fan of DFH you won't complain about the selection. They have around eight of their popular beers, most of them year round brews, along with a sampler. The also have a lot of bottled beers, including vintage beers of World Wide Stout, Old School Barleywine, and others. They also have 120 Minute on-tap (served in a snifter). It's a little over $5 a pint for something like a Shelter Pale Ale or Chichory Stout. Happy hour is 4pm-7 every weekday.

The food is excellent, and they have just about anything you want. Salads, burgers, pizzas, etc. Mondays are $5 burger days. Most of the food is "wood fired" so the place has a smokey smell, but it doesn't disturb the beer. It's smoke free as well.

I was impressed with this place. Lot's of good food and good beer. It was a little expensive, but worth it in my opinion. I highly recommend this place.

Oh yeah. My kind of place. As soon as I walked in the door I knew I would be back. The bar set up is excellent, the taps are unique, the selection of Dogfish Head on tap ... well; I didn't want to leave -- but this was a quick in-and-out. I did have the quesadilla appetizers - yummy! The taste, quality, and presentation was excellent. Understanding that most of their beers are high octane, I guess they give you a smaller amount ... that would be my only knock. Otherwise, worth the trip to Seven Corners!
