Stopped in Friday evening to find a brew pub that was hopping. They had 16 beers on tap plus a row of guest taps. They have a 3 barrel system on site and brew some specialty beers there but their main brewing is at a newly opened location a couple blocks away where they have a 15 barrel system. They have pints, 1/2 pints, and flights (4 5 ounce beers) plus growlers to go. They serve wine for the non-beer drinkers. We had two flights; every beer was delicious. They have a nice looking food menu but we had our eyes on pizza at the place next door so we passed on the food. They have free Wi-Fi but you have to enter your e-mail address to access it. They don’t have TVs in the place (nice) but some good music playing. The bar/dining area has an open ceiling and hard floors making the place very noisy. There is street and lot parking but with all the other near-by places parking was tough to find.

Spotted this while in Irvington several weeks ago, stopped in, but found that they had yet to tap their own beers. This past weekend, however, they tapped their Green Tea IPA and their FairWind Porter. The latter named for a Washington Irving quote - whom Irvington is named after - involving beer. These are just two of roughly twelve taps.
The guest taps are solid. Finch's (Chicago), New Albanian, a Bloomington Brewing, a Flying Dog and a number of other West Coast taps. At $5.75, you can certainly get cheaper beer elsewhere in town, but many of the beers are specialty or high ABV which makes it not so bad a deal.
Their own beers are $5 for a 16oz. Roughly on par with the rest of the local brew scene. I put this place in the brewpub category because they do brew their own beers and do not distribute (yet), nor do they do growlers (yet), but they also focus on pints and have a true bar unlike other Indy breweries that serve free samples in plastic cups and occasionally offer pints also in plastic cups.
I would say, for what I had, the beer here is very good. The Green Tea IPA was exactly what you might expect: golden yet strangely milky color, generous on hops but also lighter on the body with a finish definitely reminiscent of its namesake. I enjoyed it, but I enjoyed the porter more. This is a hefty, roasted malt sort of porter, which is the sort of porter I like, so it worked.
The food (which I haven't had a chance to try) is on the upscale side: paninis, a cheese plate, a meat plate and some salads. Very limited, but it all looks very good.
Interior is very cozy and very comfortable. The bar dominates the relatively small space, but there are a couple of tables as well as some couches, all looking out on Washington Street through tinted, floor-to-ceiling windows. Wood floors and wood ceilings make it a really attractive space as well.
This is a great compliment to an already great neighborhood, and certainly worth stopping by.
