I work downtown, so The Falcon Tavern is a perfect place to visit after a hard day at the office. A short walk and their 2-for-1 Happy Hour really does marvels for fits of cubicle rage.

When hoofing it downtown, if you want a quiet place with great food, good beer and you don't feel like shelling out too much cash, this is your place.

The beer selection is more limited than most great beer bars (about 6 taps), but there is usually something very serviceable. And sometimes they will have something fantastic. On those serendipitous encounters where you find something fantastic there AND you just happen to land there during Happy Hour - you'll think Christmas came early!

The food is better than most beer bars, if not the best there is. But it's priced affordably, especially considering the downtown location.

The service is always good, often with fun-spirited folks.

So, while limited in selection compared to Bitter Creek or Bardenay, the prices are lower and this place is much cozier and quieter than the competition.
