The original Hog's Breath was started in 1976 in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida as a drinking spot for a supposed group of Yuppie Dead Head types and military folks. This original location was a hit and the owner opened another location in Key West, Florida (which is now the only other location besides this Destin, Florida location).

We made a stop at this Destin location on our honeymoon and found the beer to be slightly above average, the food to be local and tasty (sea food flair of coarse) and the atmosphere to be above average and fun! There was live music playing and the place had a real party atmosphere. I remember it being loud and smoky inside so I don't think this would qualify as family friendly. There is outdoor seating and a separate building which housed the merchandise; T-shirts, mugs, six-packs of Hogs Breath Beer...ah yes the beer:

Surprisingly Hog's Breath doesn't actually brew their own beer but does so in Partnership with Pittsburgh Brewing Company where the Hog's Breath brand gets distribution in over 34 states. Pittsburgh Brewing Company acquired the Hog's Breath brand from the infamous Hog's Breath Saloon in Key West, Florida in November of 1998.

We have not yet been to the Key West, Florida Hog's Breath location but you can check out their website for a live Hogcam video feed. Make sure if you are in the pan handle of Florida that you stop by this Hog's Breath location which is a nice oasis among the other tourist traps in Destin.
