The Brewery is aptly named as the building was originally the home of the Magnolia Brewery & Ice company. It is on the Houston historic registry.

There is a well worn bar seats about 16 or so. There are about 5 large picnic tables to share and some smaller tables on the elevated area that runs along the west wall.

There is a dart area that is also in an elevated area right near the small stage.

Service was friendly enough and I think he was happy to have a new face to chat with.

They offer 34 taps. Highlights include 3 options from Spaten (Optimator, O-fest and Lager), 3 from St. Arnolds, 2 From Shiner (including the underrated black lager), Fullers ESB, Maredous, Fat Tire, Blue Moon, a brace of Euro lagers (Czechvar, Stella,) Blue Moon, UK Favs (Tenents, Guinness, Harp, Boddingtons, New Castle), local icon Lone Star and a smattering of Mexican and American Macro Lagers..

Only 10 bottles with the only good options being Duvel and Chimay.

Note that while I was there for happy hour the crowd was on the smaller side and a bit seedy. The bartender had to kick one guy out and at one point pulled out a baseball bat to make his point to him. Your experience may vary depending on the time and or day you go there.

The first thing you'll notice about this pub is the aroma. It's got one of those classic musty, beer and smoke funks that makes it difficult to breathe initially, but after a few minutes you'll hardly notice it.

The pub is large and it has group seating at thick varnished wood tables. The bar itself will seat about ten. There are 36 taps, though only 30 were dispensing beer on my visit. They had three local taps, all belonging to St Arnold's Brewing Company (Houston, Texas). They were pouring Summer Pils, Amber, and Elissa (an IPA). The rest of the selection was fairly pedestrian: the Fuller's ESB probably the next best beer after the St Arnold's.

Brewery Tap is a real pub. It's a hang out for locals who want to watch football (aka soccer) and who want to play darts. There are four dart boards against the north wall of the pub.

You won't find any food. They have chips and peanuts if you are hungry. Eat first if you need to. They open at 3 pm and stay open past midnight most nights.

Overall, I'd say that this is a good place if you want to watch a football game or have a round or two with your friends. If you are looking for interesting beer, there are other destinations.
