An outstanding place to visit (or frequent) for great food and a large beer and whiskey selection.

They maintain a permanent and rotating selection of drafts along with roughly 400 different types of beer in stock. There are several beer-related events that they host such as the weekly Pint Night on Wednesday and periodic beer pairing dinners. If you frequent the Broken Barrel often, they have a Brew Crew that you can join. The staff, both bartenders and servers, are knowledgeable on the beer selections and can make recommendations based on what you are looking for.

The food is outstanding. The smoked wings are exceptional. You can get them with sauces either on the side or dipped, but eating without the sauce and enjoying the spices is the best. Beyond the beer pairing dinners, they usually have an off menu specialty on Friday evenings and it is always great!

The bar itself is large and has three separate areas, one for the bar and dining, another with pool tables and dart boards, and a back room for special events. They have TV's everywhere and projection screens where they show games and events such as fight nights, college and NFL football games, along with other sporting events.

This is a fantastic place to go and hang out with friends. You should take the opportunity to visit The Barrel, you will not be disappointed.

This place is a really unusual in a good way. It's located in a strip mall however there is a little area out front with an little area for smokers to congregate. The entrance is nicer that you'd expect from a bar in a strip mall though. As you walk in the door you immediately notice that it's very open with high ceilings and brighter lights than I like in a bar. There are few pool tables and bar games around but most of the area is taken up with a large deep bar and free standing tables (no booths).
There was a good mix of people -- older snowbirds, locals and some college students.
I grabbed a seat at the bar and took in the huge selection of taps and the phonebook-like been menu. I won't go into too much detail because the keep the current beer menu up on their site -- but it was the best selection I've ever seen at such a sports-bar type place. A huge assortment of styles from a huge number of craft brewers -- not just one from each but most (if not all) of a brewers styles. Awesome.
The bar tender seemed knowledgeable but a little aloof...a sports bar bar tender -- not a beer snob.
Then there's the food...they brag about their BBQ on the website and from what I saw they live up to it. I was told to give the smoked wings a try and they did not disappoint - they were not covered in sauce (it was on the side) but with the smoked flavor they almost didn't need it. A great twist on standard bar fare.
I followed them up with a few more IPAs and then a pulled-rib sandwich. I don't think I've ever had a pulled-rib sandwich (cause its more fun to eat the meat off the bone) but this was very good -- a dry rub with lots of flavor. The most interesting thing was the side of potato salad. When I order it the bar tender double checked to make sure because he said it was a "little different". The potato salad was potato cubes almost dry with soy sauce, green onions and sesame seeds -- really nice twist! I could see how it wouldn't appeal to everyone though. They should be more confident in their chef...he's doing good albeit

To summarize: an average sports bar with awesome food and beer. I would be a regular if I lived here -- no question.
