Last time I was at Laht Neppur It was awful. The beers all tasted similar and not good. They tasted kinda Belgianish but they were not Belgian style beers. We asked if they were supposed to be Belgian beers and they said no. It may be that the beer lines or the tanks need cleaning. Something was wrong because it was awful really.
My brother and I have traveled around the last 6 years going to every brewery we can and this was the 2nd worst in WA. The very worst honors (So far) goes to the now closed Pacific Rim Brewery in White Center. But Laht Neppur is a close second.
Honestly we were on a brewery tour of the Tri Cities area which included this place and I was taking pictures of all these breweries as I always do and this place was so bad that even the pictures didn't come out! No joke!
Do yourself a favor and drive a couple more miles to Dayton where the beer is much better!

Arrived in the early evening and to my surprise in the middle of Waitsburg there is a brewery. Laht Neppur Brewing was open and ready to serve some good beers. The atmosphere was that of a great beer bar with labels of everything inlaid in the bar top. The beers ranged from a light wheat ale to a strong Stout and even some good early tasting of the Winter warmer Barley wine. Had a very nice tie talked with the owner for quit some time. They have lots of great styles so if you ever are on the Eastside of Washington and near Waitsburg there is a stop for you. There is food available of which I did not have any. There is plenty of parking out front. The sample ray was very large and very wll priced. I am glad I finally made it to Laht Neppur which for you trivia buffs is the owners name backwards. Great hospitality and great beer make this beer drinker a very happy person

I especially like to be the 1st one to review a brewpub and when you find one like this...well, it's like seeing a ink-black beer set before you with a rich, whipped cream, long-lasting head!

Located on the main street traveling out of Waitsburg to either Walla Walla or Kennewick, the pub is a "can't miss." In a warehouse w/a small covered beer garden (this is Washington, after all & we frequently water our plants w/rain in all seasons!) the pub itself is small, probably less than 200 square feet w/5 tables & a bar. But that's where the ordinary stops!

Coasters from everywhere lie under the plexiglass bar, peanuts & pretzels are free (and the shells go on the floor) & the beer & comaraderie are non-stop. This is farm country and the only pub for 20 miles so it is a gathering place for locals. That means, if you come here, you MUST interact because there are no TV's, no music except the music of the conversation.

8 beers on tap: Katie's, Kolsch, Pale Ale, Mike's Golden Ale, Apricot Hefeweizen (an excellent summer brew!), Neddy's Nut Brown, an IPA, an Oatmeal Porter and a Cream Stout. This stout got my vote as the favorite w/it's dark roasted coffee flavor & hints of creamy chocolate w/a great front & easy finish. It is a dangerous beer...that could keep you drinking 'til closing and beyond.

Laht Neppur (Gaelic for "drink to life" or, as owner Court Ruppenthal claims, could be "my last name spelled backwards")is a perfect brewpub...one that breeds community spirit, even if you're not a part of that locale. Step in here and you are instantly welcomed. Don't miss this one!
