I stopped by Wonder Bar last night. The bar is a really nice looking place, with faux old-fashioned tin ceiling (it appeared to be a drop ceiling designed to look like an old tavern tin ceiling but it was nice looking anyway) and a gorgeous old hardwood bar. The bartender I talked to was extremely friendly and helpful and I really enjoyed my time sitting at the bar.

That said, the beer could have been better. They only had 2 of their own beers on tap last night; an American-style wheat beer that didn't really taste very wheaty to me, more like a standard light golden ale, and a Red ale that was quite a bit better, some maltiness and a crisp finish. I'm told that normally they have a pale ale on draft as well, but that was not available last night. The best beer I had at the bar was a bottle of Snake River Pale Ale from Snake River brewing in Jackson, Wyoming.

I wasn't able to try the food while I was there.

If I was spending more time in downtown Casper I'm pretty sure this would be the place I'd go; like I said I liked the bar quite a bit and the service was great. They also have guest taps including some New Belgium selections in addition to Guinness and some macros. The beer was moderately priced as well, $3 a pint for their house drafts and $4 for the bottle of Snake River I had. I just wish they would put a little more work into their own brews.
