This place has been around a long time (by New York standards) due to a great location and attractive interior, which combine to pull in tourists and suburbanites. I can't imagine it's been the beer (which is fine--Not great, not lousy). The food is mediocre at best, and downright bad at times (got fish and chips in which the fish was still cold on the inside). Service is OK, but as with all NYC places it depends a lot on when you go and who you get as a server.
