A stone cold classic.
Dark wood laden corner bar, chalkboards and brick walls, it feels more like a living room than a bar, I think I saw a fireplace? Crowded, but not unbearable on a weekend night. Dark lighting with a sort of cozy, rustic vibe to it. We struck up a conversation right away with one of the regulars. Shout out to Nick for directing us to Lombardis.

Selection included Hill Farmstead, LIC, Interboro, and many more, served in tulips. Despite the crowd, the bar service was quick and efficient. Overall i’d return here anytime, probably during off hours in the day to take it in a little more. Greenwich Village is kind of whatever, but Blind Tiger is definitely one of the standout gems there.

"Discovered" the Blind Tiger 2 years ago and must say that I truly enjoy going there and have always felt welcomed. The staff is always friendly, locals are pleasant and plenty. One see's alot of the same faces. I mostly go on weekdays on the early side which to me is the best time to go. The afterwork crowd, or weekend crowds kind of put me off. I prefer getting a seat at the bar, having a few beers and getting a bite to eat. It's nice to walk in and not know what to expect and get turned on to new beers and breweries constantly (Hill Farmstead, Dieu di Ciel, etc, etc). Really worth going to.

This is my favorite beer bar in New York. I used to begin and end my evenings out at this place, as it's at it's best at those times. There are beer bars with more taps, but as far as quality goes the Tiger is hard to beat. Usually packed during the mid hours of the eveing, it still has a local feel...like a community pub. It's hard to explain the draw, but you'll know what I mean when you go. Staff are knowledgable about beer if you need some advice. A good-beer trip to New York would not be complete without a visit to The Blind Tiger.

Looking at their online menu made me salivate with all the great local beers. I picked out many choices knowing that they probably don't update their website. When I got there it was Vermont beer night and all the taps were switched to Vermont beers. They had a large printed out list but many were not available.
We ordered at the bar and then pushed our way through the crowd to find an open spot. Some guys were leaving and gave us their table but it was full of empty beer glasses. After we finished our 1st round we bused all the glasses ourselves. The table underneath had a great charm like it was pulled from a 100 year old pub. The stone fireplace was nice and the low square tables were nice that lined the wall.
It wash hard to see the menus written in chalk on blackboards but it gave it a nice neighborhood feel. At the bottom of the menu I was pleasantly surprised to see a cask offering and a wood pin offering.
The food was ok but the deviled eggs and grilled cheese were nothing to fancy.
This is a nice pub with a great beer selection and was a great start to a weekend in NY.
