We stopped by Dempsey's on a Saturday evening. Much to my surprise, the place was pretty quiet. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. The food menu has a lot of interesting choices.

But, we stopped for a beer, not for food. The beer was pretty lack luster. They only had 4 on tap at the time. A Pale, a Red, a Blonde and a Stout. The Red had a harsh diacetyl taste. The blonde had the most flavor, but reminded me of alka-seltzer. The pale (typically my least favorite style) was the most palatable of the four. The stout had a mild roast flavor, but was very weak in flavor.

I really wanted to like this place, but the beer is really sub-par. So if you go, go for the food and the homemade root-beer.
