South County Brewing is located in a small building complex for various shopping and services. Their corrugated metal warehouse is partitioned into a tasting room and brewhouse. A large garage door reveals small stainless steel brewing equipment, which occupies just a little real estate in their overly spacious brewhouse. They are now distributing their beers, and will undoubtedly grow. Enter their small tasting and sales room to find a small bar with a couple taps. There are no chairs, the decor is spartan, and there is a large window that looks into the brewhouse. When I first walked in, no one was present, but after a few minutes the brewmaster, JR, entered and happily offered samples of their two beers. Their flagship ale is "Americale" Dry Hopped Amber (6.3% abv), which I found quite delicious. Their second offering is Sessions ESB (4.5%), which is nicely balanced. You can purchase 22oz bottles or kegs of their two flavorful brews. For now, this is all they offer, but JR explained they'd next like to brew an Imperial IPA. This nanobrewery impresses me with their two robust beers, so I'd like to give a higher score for their selection, but they need to expand their offering to include a greater variety. Due to its remote location, visiting the brewhouse is perhaps not worth the trip - such a long drive to collect just two beers. But if you get a chance to try one of their beers, I highly recommend it.
