One of my many stops for the Vermont Brewery Challenge. Right in downtown Burlington. They offer a vast selection of beer. Located a block away from 2 other breweries this brewery located in a basement has a unique charm to it. I visited here on a busy night. There were plenty of people enjoying the great brew. The service was good considering it took a while to get to the bar.

Three Needs is a very unique brewery and Taproom and as such the beer selection changes quite frequently. The atmosphere is quite diverse and takes a deal of time and patience to acclimate, of course any/everyone is welcomed but it is not the atmosphere best suited for high-strung individuals. The atmosphere is what one makes of it. Its the type of place where a chess board can be seen with regularity and the pool table boasts some of the best talent in the area.
The house brewed beer has taken on a Belgian influenced theme, as well as, a dedication to German and California lagers in the winter months. The beer options are also supplanted by a variety of Vermont breweries from Rock Art to Magic Hat.
Overall, the beer is quite acceptable and should improve with time. Definitly worth the effort if in the Burlington area.
Hours 1600-0200. With fewer college patrons at 1900-2030 hrs.
