linkThis was the place that stood out on beermapping as the place to go in Santa Cruz, and I was glad I did. Lovely selection of about 35 beers on tap. Very chill atmosphere with lots of cozy couches. By the way, I'm talking about the upstairs area, not the downstairs smoky bar called The Red Room.
Looking online ahead of time, I was tempted by the listing of some Moonlight beers that we can't get in Portland. When I got there I was even more excited because they had Lost Abbey Angel's Share on draft... $5.50 for a goblet. That, friends, is a good deal. All of the beer was priced fairly, and there were other treasures available, like the SN 30th Fritz and Ken.
The burger I had was hearty but not as good as I was hoping for. But the excellent beer, friendly service, and great atmosphere make this a nice stop.

linkGreat Beer bar and restaurant with one of the best beer selections in Santa Cruz. Typically will have a large number of excellent microbrewery ales from California that are not available on tap anywhere else in town. The bar is upstairs in a very dark room with Red furnishings. The service is excellent and the clientele are young as you would expect in a college town. I have not eaten at the restaurant.
