Jefferson Street Brewery and Water Stone Fire Roasted Pizza are a good pair, which share two stories of a single building. Jefferson Street itself was under construction when I visited, so there was no thoroughfare, and this made the location seem somewhat remote. The steady flow of pedestrian traffic told was a good sign, and I parked in the small dedicated parking lot. Downstairs is the Water Stone pizzeria, which has a popular spacious outdoor patio. Their menu naturally consists of fired pizza plus salads and pasta. The service was adequate, and the cozy atmosphere was warm, literally and figuratively. There is a 12 chair L-shaped wooden bar adjacent to the kitchen. Decorative red lamp shades on the overhead lights add to the motif of warmth. Stone and brick exterior walls enclose the dining area, and thick wooden columns support the 2nd floor. The JSB brewhouse occupies an enclosed, windowed room on the 2nd floor. Ascend the black spiral staircase to view their copper and stainless steel brewing equipment. JSB offers a few guest bottles, and their 5 house brews: Light, Amber, interesting Orange Honey Wheat, robust Oatmeal Stout, and deliciously hoppy American Pale Ale. In conclusion, this popular pizzeria brewery pair offers good food and a small selection of well crafted beer.
