This place is well worth convincing you to vacation in South Padre. My wife and I visited on our honeymoon, we sat all evening on the upstairs deck feeling the warm and gentle breeze. The service was really good, and we waxed long about local life (to which I am informed by our waitress, most workers of south padre live across the bridge in the next city over) the food was really good pub far type food, for a whole lot cheaper than the standard prices on the island. which alone convinced us to stop back in again later that week. The beer was emaculate and quite delicious, they must have a great brewer on staff to pump out this high quality of beer.

First stop on summer 2012 Texas beer tour. My wife and I had been down to Sout Padre Island 3 times before in '05 '06 and '07 and we didn't know about this place otherwise we might have checked it out. Well, we weren't into beer all that much then but I still think we would have. So when I found out about this place I got all excited to go back to the island and try them out. I was glad I did.

The beers here aren't anything super spectacular but they were good and refreshing to the palate. There were 5 beers they had on tap. A wheat, blackberry wheat, blonde, pale ale and a stout. All very much standard beers for the most part. The blackberry wheat was probably one that stood out the most because instead of a fruit beer where the fruit profile takes over, this ones fruitiness was subdued and tasted just right. The stout was my favorite in my opinion. I could just taste hiding in it a bit of vanilla. So naturally I ended up getting a growler of that. Drank a glass before I went to bed and it even tasted good in the morning along with the coffee I had. Oh, I'm not sure as to what other beer they might have had since I didn't look, but you won't need it with their good beer.

Service here is something I wish all places could train their wait staff to do. Our waitress took our order, didn't write a thing down and repeated it back to us. Nothing came out wrong. It was perfect just like we asked for it. She wasn't a very talkative waitress but she did her job extremely well.

We got a burger to share as we're trying to cut a little bit on spending by sharing food. Plus, maybe it'll help us lose a few pounds on the trip. Haha. Fat chance. :) We ordered a bacon cheese burger with sauteed jalapenos on the side. Amazing. Couldn't say anything less.

My overall impression of this place was great. Beer, service and food. It's no wonder they've been in the game for 17 years. Hopefully they still be her in another 17. I will definitely come back to this establishment next time I"m down on the island.

This was a pleasant surprise for this part of Texas and the US. I looked hard to find a microbrewery and this is it. I drove in from Donna to try South Padre and southern Texas’s only Microbrewery. Really there's nothing south of San Antonio! The beers here were good, not great, but good. Thin light and clean even... if the style called for more mouth feel, hops and flavor. Nothing was undrinkable but quite the opposite, It was all very drinkable but then so is water. I tried everything they had to offer. Maybe it's because I'm spoiled and from the West Coast but I could barely taste the hops in even the hopiest of styles. Now don't think that this is a bad review because it isn't really. A lot of women like thin light beer with no AAU's or ABV. Anyway I also had the fish while I was there and it was very good! The place was nice and clean. The people friendly and all in all it was the best place for beer south of San Antonio! So go! What else you gonna do there? Barley Jim.
