linkSummer '08: Selection was as good as ever, "new arrival" tags on a few things. Issaquah, Victor's Memoriale Alt, 3F FR XI, and some new Belgians on the shelf. Most of the glassware from last year was gone. Deli counter is right by the beer, if you're inclined to do cheese pairing.

This Binny's impressed me, alot more than the Lakeview location closer to home.
Why you ask? Well, selection is very impressive, despite the awkward layout of the store. Once I made it to the designated beer area, I realized a basket would be necessary to haul all the goodies. Getting back to where I started was like running the gauntlet, but they make use of the space they have. Some seasonals near the entrance, and glassware here and there.
The beer selection: above par for the area. Service is a more hands-off approach, but the buyer definitely knows what's up. Plenty of domestic and import goodness, my only gripe is not much cooler space for the good stuff. Good Belgian, German, and Euro selection. A couple rarities here and there, had to put a couple back due to impulsive behavior. Strong domestic, 3F (5x), Founders (5x), Jolly Pumpkin (5x), Allagash (many), Goose (5x), Summit, Rogue, etc. OCT. 2007: O'Fallon sampler packs, glassware gift boxes, and a sweet lil rack of branded glasses.
Checkout was great, very sweet lady with braids was helpful and snagged a box for all the singles I was carrying out. Recommended for you northern ex-urbians...

linkThis is my go-to Binny's, broad selection of beers, including Midwest micros (deep selection), other US micros (good selection), strong bomber selection, a few single 12oz micros, good Belgian section, and three full non-cooler rows including English, German, and others plus end-caps. They have a full 4-5 cooler sections with macros and micros. Usually some limited Midwest micros, overall a rounded selection plus all the wine and hard stuff you might seek.
Some old stuff, watch out for the dusty ones. Good service, always a guy around to ask questions.
