From the outside Otto's is large with lots of parking. The inside reflects that the owner has invested considerable money in the place. The appearance is very professional, clean and neat. The bar is large and there are many tables and booths. Service is quick and professional. We had apricot wheat, spruce creek lager and maibock lager. The beers were very tasty. We could have drank them all night. The food was served promptly and was as described. Over all we like Otto's and would return. My only concern was that they did not have the beer selection that I am used to: ten or eleven beers on tap.

Ottos is a decent sized.brewery in State College PA. The bar was very large and the atmosphere was. a bit too commercialized - it certainly was missing the brewery feel that I like to see.

I tried their sampler and the beers were consistently good. They also had a chocolate peanut butter stout on tap from a guest brewery. It was by far themost interesting beer of the bunch.

The service was fast and friendly. .

I've been going to Otto's for a year-and-a-half now, since I moved to PA in 2009....it gets better with every visit. Now, it appears they have moved their location down the street to the old Quaker Steak & Lube. The new bar there is MASSIVE! Lots more room to stretch out than the other place had.

Last time there I had the porter (on the hand-pump)and could have sat there all day drinking, its as solid as they get. Took home a growler of the Double D IPA and almost one of that porter.

I'm not sure if it's a seasonal thing, but I was in once and they had a marzen on tap that was probably one of the best hand-crafted beers I've ever had. Look for it if your ever there, it won't disappoint!

I've never had anything but the chili (it's really good) so I can't comment on the food, and the bar staff is always nice and shoving little samples of beer at me (nice indeed!)

Next time your in State College, I'd recommend stopping in for a pint!

If you are traveling to State College, PA, this is the place to grab a great beer and some very decent food. Overall, an excellent microbrewery, highlighted by excellent service, food...and most importantly BEER. The varied selection of brew available will contain all your favorite styles. I tried both the Dunkle and Hefe....and was pleased with both. Parking is limited. We arrived at 6pm and the lot was full. However there is parking across the street. This is the second time I've visited...the first being a couple years ago. I'll be sure to go back whenever I'm in town.

Excellent! Otto's is one of the best brew pubs to visit in my opinion. Not only are they located in a college town but they are located in HAPPY VALLEY! This place is the best to stop in before you head over to tailgate before all Penn State football games. I warn you though on Saturday during football season the place gets packed. I recommend visiting during the winter or summer seasons if you want to relax. They have a beautiful hop garden growing with outdoor seating. Every Friday at 5pm they tap a cask and pour direct. I’ve had the IPA, the double IPA and just recently the Triple IPA, each time I leave with a growler of at least one of these beers. They do sell 20oz bottles on site and at the local Wegman’s located around the corner. The food is outstanding, I love the nachos and wings-they make amazing sauces that you must try. I may be a little bias since I graduated from Penn State but I travel back to Otto’s at least once a month just to drink their beer and get my growlers filled. I think they are reasonably priced and worth the trip to visit.

On the north side of State College, away from the college kids. Usually 8-10 beers on tap. Charlie will do some experimental kegs, like imperial stout in a bourbon barrel, which is cool. The Double D IPA is smooth and powerful and the stout is rich and satisfying. The food is pretty good (they need a hotter hot wing) but maybe a bit on the pricey side. A good place to stop on the "future I-99 corridor"!
