This is a really nice brewery in Albany, Or. It has a really cool tasting room with a large eating area. There are lots of tables in a large open area. The building is modeled like an old airplane hanger. I had the Paddle me IPA, it was malty and hoppy and I really liked it. I also had the Riprarian IPA and it was very good. We were just here for a quick visit during a scouting trip and I would definitely stop by if in the Area again. Visited on June 25, 2016

Calapooia Brewing is on the edge of a not very dense residential neighborhood in Albany. The pub is a large room with large windows on two sides; three sides if you count the windows looking out on the mostly outdoor courtyard area (it's open to the air but has a roof and is enclosed on three sides). The outdoor area has picnic tables and propane space heaters. The inside is fairly worn and generic but has a friendly and local feel and is wonderfully bright. We were definitely made to feel welcome. The floor is covered with indoor/outdoor carpeting. Formica and wooden tables with padded wooden chairs fill most of the room. By the windows are two comfortable wooden church pew benches. One corner of the room is dedicated to several dart boards. Beer is ordered at the L-shaped wooden bar that has several bar stools and a wooden sign "Order Yer Beer Here".

There were 8 regular beers and 5 seasonals on our visit, and included two different IPAs that were both good and quite different from each other.

Food is small-town America, fairly generic pub, but is well made if the burgers we had are anything to go by.

Heard about this place for the past few years so it was time to see what it was all about. In the old part of town in a area you β€˜d think this can’t be it there it is. A big place with some great beers. An old warehouse with both indoor and ooutdoor seating they do allow kids so that is good for those travling with your kids. They have a small seating arragnement inside for about 20-30 and outside they can hold about 100 if they move some tables. The best part it is all under a huge cover so the rain and weather will stay off of you. Around 15 taps going not all their beer but they had about 10 beers going on this day. I got to try a sampler of beer. 8 different and great beers. Ranging from a light pale ale for the light beer drinker to the heavey stout that had flavor and life of it’s own. Be wary of the hot pepper beer it will make you wish you ate ice cream. It was smoking hot. The flavor was just that it was a beer but so hot and peppery it was too much one could not really enjoy drinking this over and over it was defantly a beer fro a one time try and say I had it beer . The food was regualr pub fare and very good stuff. Had a great time the locals love this place so it has it’s character and charms. If they are brewing they will ask if you want o see what is going on and you might be pitching malts or helping swril the beer as it is brewing. Very nice and friendly staff. This was a great time.

With a standard bar menu & rotational beers, this place rocks!
There are always at least 7 calapooia brews on tap. They are listed above the bar on a big chalk board with their alcohol %. The sampler platter is the thing to get your first visit to taste all the different kinds of beer on tap. Be sure to pay extra for the barley wine sample, it's worth it. They also sell/refill growlers, so you can take home some of their liquid gold.
It is a small bar with only about 8 tables for seating inside. There is a outdoor seating area that allows smoking. 3 dart boards take about 20% of the indoor space. Parking is always available in the lot across the street.
My 2nd time there was the best time I've had there. There was a double IPA beer called Shipwreck & it did it's job to shipwreck me.
