We stopped in on 6/29 for some beers & a bite. The place was crazy-busy & we had about a 20-minute wait for a table. In the interim, we got a couple of beers & found a couple of chairs to relax. One nice thing is they offer five-ounce pours for a dollar. I had the kolsch, nut brown, pale ale, IPA, & the Buck Snort stout. there was not a bad beer in the bunch. We way over-ordered on food because the portions were huge when they came out. The burger I had was cooked perfectly rare which many places have a problem doing. The staff did a good job considering how busy it was. Parking seems to be a problem but that may be because we're not familiar with the town. If I lived in the area, this would be a hangout.

I've been to this establishment 3 times now (first time it was sooo busy I couldn't get seated...I don't have the patience to wait for a beer). Came back through the area a couple of weeks later, and was able to have lunch on a Sunday afternoon.

The interior is very unique to say the least...lots of hand worked wood and knick-knack's all over the place. They also had a very nice beer selection, with one on the hand-pump (last time I was there it was the red ale on pump).

They have about 6 or 7 regular's on tap, all of them I've tried were quite good. I especially liked the scotch ale: malty, roasted dark amber that had a nice hopped edge to it. Very well crafted. The stout's that I've had there are really good, and the red ale I mentioned previous seems to be the staple of the place.

Food is outstanding too...good selection of sandwiches and entree's, both times I've eaten there have been great.

Not far from the junction of interstates 80 and 81...main street Slipper Rock has a very cozy feel about it, definitely worth a quick look (and drink!)

Well worth the drive out to Slippery Rock for this one, in a college town on a street with a lot of other local type establishments. Parking could be a bit of a problem, although in the middle of a Sat, I had no problem getting street parking.

Really an interesting building, it has had many uses over the years including the town morgue. Has been a tavern since the 1800s among other purposes. Awesome beer garden out back with hops growing everywhere and a large outdoor fireplace.

Had an awesome sampler selection, 6, 9 or 13, each $1 each. 5oz samples. Excellent selection of beers, some very good ones, but I wouldn't say any were great, just solid. Breakfast Mild Blend was surprisingly flavorful. Rye Ale and Pale Ale were probably the best two selections. Fruit Bowl was interesting, they didn't say what type it was, but tasted like blueberry.

Menu was extensive and excellent. Interesting brewers pretzels, kind of a fried dough style. Had the ploughman lunch, plenty of food and very good.

Very environmentally friendly place.

I am going to give 4.5 for beer selection, the variety of the selections was excellent, quality was good, not excellent.

I enjoyed this place a lot. Like many said, it is a busy place as showcased by an hour wait for a table. But that gave us longer to concentrate on the beers. All the beers we had were pretty good, can't remember anything average in the bunch. The fruit bowl beer was pretty amazing, so try that. All 4 of us had fantastic food. The building itself is extremely interesting as everything is made of wood and there is never a dull moment upon scanning the room. The atmosphere is lively, our server was great. She put up with our declining coherence and even told us of a really great park to camp in.

recommendation: if you are anywhere near slippery rock, go here, it's a great facility, good beer, good service and good atmosphere.

This brew pub offers a diverse and plentiful selection of beers. All beers were good but noting was really outstanding. Standard brew pub selection. 16+ beers on tap. The draw here is the atmosphere and the food. The menu is very reasonably priced and everything was delicious. The only real negative here is that they close early and the bar tenders will ignore you to get you to leave. Our waitress Samantha was great though.

The best Pittsburgh area brewery. The Copper Kettle Ale was fantastic with a smooth, caramel like finish! Overall they offered many varieties of beer (about 11 were on tap when I visited); however, they are all of good quality. The place is very unique with a rustic lodge feel. There is carved wood all over the place (the men's bathroom has an old man's faced carved into it). The food was very good. Excellent beer battered fish sandwich, not the normal, breaded, tasteless Pittsburgh plank of cod. Sirloin sandwich was cooked perfectly to medium. They have live music also on certain nights of the week (blues, jazz, country).
